Installing XS sights on a 336

Can anyone tell me what is involved to install the ghost ring on the back of the Marlin 336.Is it a smithing job?

a couple screws and locktight as long as your marlin is predrilled by marlin for a scope mount. if it has screws in the top of the receiver you remove the back ones and screw the new rear sight on.

You might want to check out Skinner sights. He has both receiver and barrel mounted ghost ring sights.
