Hi all.
I'm not much into revolvers, but I'm heading to a firearms auction this weekend and I've been eyeing a couple of revolvers being auctioned.
So, I was wondering if ya'll could tell me what they are worth.

S&W Model 28-2

I'll see you there. I'm in 562:) KC will go very high I almost guarantee you. I'd not give more than low $100's for the Nagant, ammo is expensive also in the correct caliber.

Model 28 will go high also, they have been going for nearly as much as the higher end model 27 it's based on! Dan Wesson revolvers have a following and are hard to get in your state so it could and will probably go high.

I once put one to auction though and it sold for less than $300, you never know.

The Dan Wesson you show in the photo is one of the early "pork chop" models and different barrels for these can only be found used. The later style uses a pin in the frame that mates with a hole in the shroud lug - these you can buy new barrels for from CZ-USA.

The older "pork chop" guns are not generally priced as high as the later model DWs but this will still go in the $300 range or so...

Easily the most valuable gun shown is the Colt Cobra CCL.
Colt collectors are beating the bushes for these limited production models, and you might be shocked at what it sells for.

A tip about the S&W if that deeply interests you -

Check to see if if it's a re-blue - looks great but my suspicion meter is raised because of the box it's in. It's a pinned model (pre 82), but it's in a later model one-piece "Lear Siegler" box - which I don't think came until 1984. Possibly it was used a little earlier, but not much - it's possible that's the original box, but with the high incidence of box (and label) fakery these days, it's worth checking out in case someone is thinking of paying an "ANIB" price on that gun. If the ink on the box label is bright and shiny and doesn't match the wear on the box, consider it a fake. With the brisk trade in blank and forged S&W labels on Ebay these days, you gotta be careful about paying for guns in boxes without looking very closely, and knowing what you are looking at.

That DW would be fun to have under $300, but not much more. The second generation variants are slightly better engineered (not necessarily better built, just some minor engineering tweaks) as mentioned above.

The gun to get is the King Cobra, but be prepared to dig deep in your pocket

If that M28 is as nice as it looks in the picture you can expect to pay $400 or more for it.

'm mot sure if you are thinking about buying all of them or you are going to choose one. If you are going to buy only one I would make it the M28. It's not the most valuable and probably won't go up in price as much as the Colt but it's one hell-of-a-shooter! That would definitely be my choice.

I know the first one I would be bidding on would be the Colt King Cobra, but as the others have already pointed out, it's going to get expensive in a hurry. Knowing that, I think if the price stays reasonable on the S&W Model 28, that would be the one I would focus on. And seeing how the DW is an earlier model, you might be able to pick that one up for a lot less than the others, as well. Good luck.

Around my parts, that Smith 28 would go for $375 or more. Probably more. An "S" before the serial number instead of an "N" would make it even more valuable, though it would certainly make that box a replacement or a fake.

Went to the auction today, but didn't win any of the revolvers. :(

Nagant Model 1895 went for $175 (my max bid $100).
Dan Wesson Model 15 went for $275 (my max bid $200).
S&W Model 28-2 went for $550 (my max bid $350)
Colt King Cobra LLC went for $950 (my max bid $700).

Good price on the Colt King Cobra and the Model 28 You couldn't give me the Nagant. I hope someone gives it a good home.

Mod 28 went too high IMO even for CA. I should have bid $300 on the DW but I didn't but I did get another handgun.

My 28-2 was $450 and it has a four inch barrel, which seems a little rarer, an S prefix and an (original) box. The prices are going up on the n-frames but $550 is still rather high to me.

People are paying 27 prices for 28's for some reason.

I haven't seen 28s broaching $700 and ranging up to $1000, which is 27 prices these days. 28s tend to trade $425 to $500 for most. These are current prices, not the ones of yesteryear.

I sold a 27-2 6" with a fair amount of blue wear for around $450 last year. I have seen 28's in somewhat better shape though sell for over $600 last year also. I saw a 27 6" with some rust sell for around $600 last year also.
