This is my 12 FV in .243, great shooter in spite of the so-so stock, currently wears a Weaver Grand Slam 6.5-20. It shoots a Nosler 70 gr. handload in the .3's - .4's, and most factory loads sub-moa.

March 12, 2008, 09:13 PM
heres some okay pics of mine, got out and shot it today at 100 yards, and got some good groups. it used to be a rack grade 30-06, but is now a .308!

ill try one day to get some better pics. brian

March 12, 2008, 10:32 PM
savage 110 in 30-06 , choate ultimate varmint stock with the same walmart Simmons 3x9 , but I would really like a longer barrel, dont know which hone though, and a decent scope , need info on that to that would be the only thing else I would switch on this rifle any advice Im all ears.

March 12, 2008, 10:32 PM
It's a Savage 12FV in .223. Yeah i know the "tupperware" stock isn't the top of the line, but i was shooting less than 1 in. groups with handloaded hornady match rounds.

March 12, 2008, 10:39 PM
Here's my Stevens 300. It says Savage in 3 places, and Stevens only once so I call it a Savage. I don't have a pic of it yet, so here's the stock pic, but I bought mine with iron sights only, and stuck a similar looking cheap BSA scope on it.

March 12, 2008, 10:41 PM
great color krochus, does anybody have any opinions on a super sniper scope, Im thinking 10x40 I think and a good after market barrel to put on mine , I want a little more length on my rifle, it seems kinda small like a scout setup if you will , how makes a good after market barrel. my rifle seems a little unbalanced

March 13, 2008, 12:17 AM
My 1-7 223

I thought I had a pic of my 6.5X47 Lapua at home, but apparently not.

March 13, 2008, 01:16 AM
I'll add my No4 Mk1* too!

March 13, 2008, 01:30 AM
Old (as in pre-68, as there is no serial number ANYWHERE on the gun, and I've had it completely apart) Savage 340 in 30-30.Horrible rear sight, very much like what was on my first couple Daisy bb guns as a kid, and shoot 6" rt. at 100 yds, but groups great.Although it sure doesnt look like it, I san only suspech the fixed, thin rear sight got out of whack during years in a closet.Attempts to correct it make it obvious the sight will rip loose before being corrected. The crown looks fine also, so I cant figure out what else it could be.Someday I will likely have it drilled for a scope, as it groups great, and is a neat gun being a bolt 30-30 with 3rd removeable mag.Kinda different. It's on my list.....

And since JPWilly reminded me...my Savage Enfield No.4 MKI*

Here's a Savage 110FP we built a couple weeks ago. Choate stock and gun were all done in a multilayer Duracoat finish to break up the appearance under any level of light.

The cammoed one is a Savage Mdl 40 Varmint Hunter in 22 Hornet with Burris Fullfield II 4X15

Savage 12 FV Choate stocked .223 Remington has a B.S.A. 8X32 Platinum ,Warne Rings and base.

My lone Savage - a 12BVSS in .223 shown with a Weaver V16 plex and the factory Accu-Trigger. Had Fred Moreo of Sharp Shooter Supply install one of his triggers which I find to be an improvement. Although for out of the box the Accu-Trigger is pretty good.

I always liked the look of the 12BVSS and thought it would make a great bench rifle. The rifle has displayed some really impressive accuracy at times but has a tendency to foul quickly.

I am thinking barrel replacement although a few here have suggested that it will smooth up with more cleaning and shooting. About 300 rounds fired so far.

It now has a Burris 12X plex. I am going to mount my V16 with target dot off my 700 for my next range session.

Pre-Accutrigger 110, .30-06 with Boyd's nutmeg laminate stock, Swift 4-12X40AO scope in Millet bases and rings, Uncle Mike's buttstock shellholder, and a Boonie Packer sling. The whole package cost a grand total of $350!

March 21, 2008, 01:11 PM
This is one of mine for at least a while. Didn't know they even existed until I got this one. Mine for now at least.:D

March 21, 2008, 03:03 PM
Savage also found a way during WW2 to substantially reduce the number of parts, and cost of the Thompson submachinegun.

Bad pic of both me and the gun but the only one I have after I put the scope on it..was 3 degrees that day, if I remember correctly.

Prior to putting on the scope:
