What kind of shooting are you into first and foremost?

If I miss your catagory please comment.

Good idea. I have wondered about the distribution on THR but didn't think of a poll.

CAS for me. If I had another vote it would be on the hunting side.

Mainly target shooting with pistol. Getting my first rifle (SKS) for my birthday in less that a month. Just got an old black powder rifle that was in bad shape that i am trying to rebuild. I have also been shooting a lot of full auto the last several months. Don't own any but have access to many. the best part is i don't have to pony up for the ammo.:D :D

I perform at least 10 of the options there rather badly. If I were to specialize, I could probably do better, but I wouldn't have as much fun as I am now!

I put down self-defense. Everything else is for fun (but thankfully the principles of safety, handling, marksmanship are all the same).

Hunter here. Since I don't have a CCW, I'll stick with hunting for now and hump up to get the CCW later. Love to hunt. Favorite thing to do. If I had to vote a #2, I'd vote Target Shooting Rifle (Informal).

Nothing I do anymore is "formal". Except maybe for filling out the paperwork when I buy a shootin iron.

Anyway I shoot targets, hunt, mostly with handguns. I wish the polls here had the abiltiy to choose "all that apply".

I don't do black powder, or rather I very rarely do any. I just loaded up a bunch of bp .45 Colt for a gun test.

I don't collect, if I can't shoot it, I don't want it.

I can't see the poll anymore so I'm forgetting what was on it.
You see I'm tired, I just over threw a two bit dictator and rebuilt the country.

Anyway, with the exception of military type guns, most of what I do is handgun, or handgun caliber related.
I'm not into cas, but even before that existed I shot single actions with bp in an IPSC match :D, I wonder if somebody saw that and stole my idea?

I'm rambling, lost, confused..........................

I primarily shoot bullseye and PPC, so that's Pistol Target Competition.

But I also shoot High Power Rifle (more or less.)

And Cowboy, when I get the chance.

I carry a gun for a living, so the self-defense aspect entereth, also.

Love to plink.

Since I was released from the Marine Corps I haven't had much chance to shoot anything full auto. But I would if I could, I suppose.

Out of IDPA, IPSC, Skeet, 3Gun, my favorite is 3Gun by far. Run'n'Gun, multiple guns, tests lots of different skills, different problems to solve. It doesn't hurt at all that I shot rifles long before I started to shoot pistols.

IPSC is a close second due to the shooting challenges (it's just basically more shootin' than IDPA).

I try to keep my "game" equipment close to "practical" equipment.

I used to be a competitive bullseye shooter, but arthritis and aging eyes turned me into an informal target shooter. I miss the thrill of competition, but probably enjoy shooting a little more, since it's all about shooting for the sake of shooting now.

For just plain fun shooting, mainly .22 benchrest stuff, with occasional side trips to 22-250, .243 & .220.

I practice my CCW handguns everyweek or so but that never matches the fun of seeing all those little groups on the target @ 50 or 100 yrds.

USPSA/IPSC, steel matches and sub-gun shoots are where I spend quite a bit of my time, but lots of informal shooting gets done as well.
