I turned my gen one pistol into a carbine rifle. what is the largest caliber handgun or rifle that this frame will handle?

anyone got a likn on company that may offer barrels in non standard offerings

like a 23'' 243 that wont cost me an arm and a leg

I believe the 45-70 is the largest caliber for the Contender.

but when the limit the frame i imagin it is by pressure right, not cartridge length. I have seen some barrels custom chambered in 30-06 and 338-o6 would these be safe for this gun?

The Contender won't handle higher pressure cartridges like the 243, 30.06, or 308. You can use the 30-30, 35 Remington, 7-30 Waters in the Contender. SSK makes custom barrels for the Contender in many of the JDJ cartridges. Marlin 444 brass is used to form most of the JDJ's that are used in the Contender.

these guy will get you on the right track,,I have a custum barrel from them,they have all that you'll evr need or could use in one life time,
