Question about replacing a muzzle device

I'm looking at replacing the flash hider on my FAL with a brake and a few things I've seen on the manufacturer's site have me wondering about exactly what is entailed.

I believe DSA silver solders their muzzle devices on, so naturally they would have to be heated up to be removed. On their gun smithing services list they have an entry for installation of a brake which includes reparkerizing the barrel which got me wondering if the removal of the flash hider is going to damage the barrel. Any comments shedding some light on this would be appreciated.

The heat required to melt silver solder may scorch the finish around the work area.

May? If I take it to a good smith (which was my plan anyway) would they be able to minimize either the risk or the visible effect?

You can take it anywhere you like.

You're gonna have some visible change (however minimal) no matter who does it. This is the reason for the "change muzzle device and repark rifle" option.

the heat required to melt silver soldier is high enough that it will damage the finish .
