Bought one of these to practice with: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=910621&t=11082005

It seems to work very well. Worked perfect with 50 or so BB's on the first try. Seemed to shoot where it looked. I need to build a trap so I can really test. I've given up on airsoft for practice as I could throw a rock better then every one I tried could pattern. Haven't found many choices that simulate real guns. Ammo is getting too pricey to miss with.

Has anyone else had any experience with better air pistols?

Daisy's model 93 (693 is the two tone chrome and black version) is a good fun reliable plinker, and is a replica of a Smith & Wesson 9mm.

Umarex has a very interesting .177 M&P replica coming out soon, a 19 shot BB 480 fps semi auto with a drop free mag, in both all black and a dark earth frame. I wonder if pyramydair just used a pic of a real M&P, usually the CO2 lift off grip is on the left side, but I don't see a seam, and it would be odd to put it on the other side.

Cybergun has a .177 Tanfoglio Witness, 380 fps and 20 BB shots.

I put about a 100 shots through tonight. With a rest at 15' I could get nickel size groups. Look's like about 50 shots on a cartridge before it really drops off. Spent another $8 and got a laser sight at Walmart to put on.

I plan on being at the NRA show and will have to look out for other air pistols.

Sawyer:

If it has a drop out mag, the CO2 bottle is contained within the magazine.

I had a really nice Walther P99 airgun, it was all steel and had all the same buttons and levers. It even had a detatchable magazine with the co2 cartridge in it.

Pellets are always more accurate than BBs, especially in an underpowered air pistol. I used to hit crows all the time, but it would never kill them if they were more than 30' away.

very good site with a collection and reviews of semi auto and revolver loookalikes:

the Tanfoglio is really ugly on the other side, lots of screw holes, and the ejection port has a silver sticker inside.

There's an interesting 23 shot Sig 2022 by KWC, the velocity is pretty low, though.

there's a newer redesigned version of the Daisy 693, it's uglier imho and has a rail now.
