P3-AT .... availability, best prices, sources etc

Guys ... I have long postponed getting a P-32 but decided a while back to hang on for the .380 ...... I now wonder how well these are coming on market (re qty) .... but also where the best prices are to be found. The Kel-Tec site prices the parkerized, for example .... at some $345 ..... obviously like us all .... I am after best deal.
Any input and pointers you can supply?

Hard to say right now. The dealers that have gotten some, haven't gotten very many and they are quickly sold. Prices have ranged from $229 to low $300s. KT has made almost 2,000 of them per a KT gunsmith. I'm next on the list at a local gunshop. Price should be $229.

I just checked over at gunsamerica.com and saw one for $260 plus $15 shipping to your FFL holder. Then you must tack on what your FFL holder charges for transfer (mine charges $20).

Thx guys ... appreciate the info ....
This seems more like it tho - much better for price .... I decided also to give my local guy a chance at it too, just called him up ..... even if a delay .... see if he can match other lower prices.
Any others links to come still useful.

The gun shop I go to (SE Texas) has gotten a couple in and all were gone very quickly. Didn't even have time to warm up the spot in the case. Price was $250. The P-32 is priced at $240.

Again thx for all info ... at least gave me a feel for price spread.
I have spoken with local dealer and he'll get me a parkerized for $265 .. OK probably not cheapest but manufacturer's price is $345!! Plus - no transfer fees or shipping so .. I am happy with that.
I guess it may be 2 weeks or so .. these are selling like hot cakes!:p

Last info. from KT was that only blue was available for now but since they're up to 2,000 now that may have changed.

Stumbled across the thread about PA dealers, about 1/2 way down the thread. See p.2 also, more there.

i'll wait for it in hard chrome for 2 reasons. Kel tec can work out the bugs with the first guns they make, secondly, it's just an overall better finish for the gun (durability, asthetics, sight picture).
I'm in no rush, I'm getting a bersa .380 tomorrow. I'll position it next to my passport for the perfect james bond look (yeah, i know that 007 used a walther, but the bersa's half the price has a better trigger and a slight beavertail to prevent "walther bite")

P-3AT's just went up from $219 to $229. Bought one this week. My FFL transfer agent only charges $10, so it was just too good to pass up. :D

Guys, why don't you all hold off getting a P3-AT for a few months? Let those POS first-run guns collect dust, then when Kel-Tec realizes we refuse to be their beta-testers they'll recall them and ship out ones that actually work.
So far we gun owners have become the beta-testers for the following new products:
Kimber Series II
SW1911
Kahr P-series autos
Kel-Tec P-32
Beretta Vertec
It's time we didn't buy any of that crap until promised it'd either work or we'd get our money back.

I must agree with dsk. Being the first guy on the block to buy one of these is probably not a good idea. I mentioned having problems with my early P32 (as did many) in another post here. I also bought a P11 when they hit the market. Problems plauged it also. I've got a P11, but not the original. Notice Kel-tec no longer sells the P40. Wait 6 months, you waited this long.

I've been at the head of the waiting list at a local shop for many months.
I saw SN 01086 at the gun show yesterday for a mere $250.
I didn't buy it because I finally admitted to myself that I really need a hard chromed one. My old hc P32 has held up extremely well after years of daily front pocket carry.
Talked myself out of buying another gun.

level of impatience. I've been going on Guns America daily since they appear to have a new P3AT posted for sale a couple of times per week. Prices vary from $260-$300. I paid $280 +S&H for mine today. If the P3AT follows the same price-availability as the K32, prices will decrease and availability will increase in 9-12 months.

John Bt, just so you'll know, you'll have a long wait. KT said that they won't have any chrome ones for almost a year.

I bought mine a few weeks ago for $219.00 in Utah. I have now fed it 350rds without any problems...so far.

alamo - Thanks for the info. I guess I'll hold out until A) the hc ones get here, or B) the prices on the blue ones fall a whole bunch.
You know, a S&W 442 really isn't a bad pocket pistol. I've been carrying it more this summer and it's really easy to carry during the fall, winter and early spring. And that about gets me to the release of the hard chromed P-3AT doesn't it? :)
