I've seen clay pidgeon throwers that were hooked up to a car battery and operated via a foot control (ie. no cocking between throws, just step on the pad). Anyone have one of these? Know where to get one? Thoughts are appreciated!

We use a variety of the automatic clay target throwers at the club I shoot at. Several different manufactuers offer them at various prices. In general, you get what you pay for.
I would recommend you get one with the remote (batttery operated) control. That way, you can stand 100 yards away and launch the target by just pressing a button.
I don't know what they cost, but I'd guess they start around $500 for a model that will hold about 80 clay targets. Do a "Google" search for the different machines available.

I am looking for one also and the best price I have seen is from Natchez shooting supply online. $299 for the do-all aerial assault. I do not know anything about these throwers other than some reviews online which have been mixed. However for $299 I think it might be worth a try:D
