Thanks to Tam for providing her vehicle for use as a prop. (

I am trying to make a version showing a non-camo parent and a child with a .22 bolt action but this is the category entry for now.

That's a TACTICAL assault sniper rifle he's holding...

Oooh, scary...

Oleg, nice posters. Just a question: if you're writing 'Twentieth Century' as a proper noun, would the word 'century' be capitalized as well as 'twentieth?'

Thanks to Tam for providing her vehicle for use as a prop.
Um, Tamara, is that a model of a tank, or do you actually own the real thing?:what:

January 11, 2003, 10:49 PM
Poor young fellow. That's probably all his folks could afford.
At least he's got a good start.

Tam, guess you like to combine off-roading with your shooting occaisionally?

January 12, 2003, 12:08 PM
TarpleyG...with that extended magazine, it must be a "HIGH POWERED Tactical Assault Sniper Rifle", right?

Tam...get many strange looks driving that down the highway? :D I'd hate to have to fill the tank, though....

Idiotic Liberals.....feh.

Definitely cool posters, but "twentieth" shouldn't be initial-capitalized, since it's not a proper adjective.

January 12, 2003, 02:28 PM
Good work (as always!)

January 12, 2003, 02:51 PM
You KNOW how I hate to be picky....

But "government genocide"? By which governments? The 3rd Reich targeted Jews for genocide, Stalin whacked 20 million or so USSR citizens, and Pol Pot whacked millions of Cambodians, but where do you come up with 170 million? The tank implies you mean war, and 20th Century war casualties fell far short of that number.

"Innocent"? I'll buy that for Hitler's, Stalin's, and Pol Pot's pogrom victims, but not for victims of war as combatants or citizens of combatant countries.

The overstating tends to be hyperbole that detracts from the message.

January 12, 2003, 03:41 PM
Latest estimates of The Great Helmsman's postwar follies indicate 100,000,000+ victims in that nation alone.

Add some of government's other shining excesses in the great century just passed, and the 170,000,000 figure is completely believable.

(Ever since such State-sponsored galas as Tianenmen Square and Waco, tanks are a symbol of crushing government power as much as they are of war.)

Number 170 mil comes from a book by
I might use a T62 silhouette instead.
The background, BTW, is Knob Creek :)

Ah, never forget the Chinese.

They alone killed most certainly 30 or 40 million of their own with their "Great Leap ahead".

Yet another masterpiece on number one! Two is nice, but not quite as moving.

Century and century both are used, the latter
I saw recently in a British mag published out
of Oxford.
The standard spelling, I think, would be
20 Century, with th superscripted.

January 12, 2003, 09:16 PM
I don't get it.

January 13, 2003, 03:17 AM
Those are great, especially #1.

January 14, 2003, 12:46 AM
Still lost, man...

January 14, 2003, 03:14 PM
All I can say is WOW ! ! !

More top-notch work from Mr. Volk. Wish everybody "got it" the way he does.

January 14, 2003, 03:25 PM
Wow, I used to look like that little boy about 30 years ago, holding a scoped 22 Ruger. I would fit the profile of a tactical -sniper- assault weapon- toter. Looks like I was way ahead of my time.:p
