I have a 20 guage 870 express. The plunger that puts tension on the extractor is stuck. It is below the surface.

Can I get a new bolt or bolt assembly? Where can I get one and do they drop in or is fitting required? This gun has been a basket case for a month now and I'm getting worried.

I am not dealing with CDNN 'cause they screwed me over.

Bolts are drop in by gauge. Before that, dismount the extractor.

Per Kuhnhausen,Page 46....

" 1. If the extractor is stuck or resistant, immerse the bolt assembly overnight in penetrant.

2. Draw the extractor plunger back with a small screwdriver blade.

3. Rotate the extractor hook toward the front of the bolt. Then, pull the extractor forward and out. Minimize the chance of extractor spring or plunger escape and loss by holding the bolt face close to the bench as the extractor is withdrawn.

4. If the extractor spring will not drop out, form a hook on the end of a small paper clip, screw in the hook, and pull the spring out. Replace the spring if rusted, stretched or damaged".

Then I'd lube well and reassemble, trying it out with some dummy rounds.

Mcracken--

You don't get it, it's not happening. I've tried all that and more.

Then get a bolt from Remington, or Numrich.

Might also try GunParts.com ; they have nice schematics and parts for most guns.
