I just wanted to thank everyone who suggested the beltman's belts. My wife just got a 1 1/4" horsehide belt. Man, what a nice belt. It holds a full sized 1911 for CCW in place without a stiffener. The quality on this thing is something to behold. I am ordering me a belt now. If you do not have one you don't know what your missing.

Jim not only makes a great belt he is a first class guy to deal with. I somehow managed to order a couple of belts the wrong size (his site is nearly idiot proof but somehow I did it anyway) and I e-mailed him, asking what to do. He immediately telephoned me and told me the least expensive way to correct the situation and wanted to cover the second shipping. I sent a few extra bucks for that since it was my fault, not his.

+1 on the Beltman! I just received my belt yesterday, and it is functionally beautiful, and I mean that in the best sense. Tried it in the house last night and it works just as advertised. One thing I noticed is that I don't have to cinch it as tight as a lesser belt since the stiffness really distributes the weight of a hosltered gun, very comfortable.

I ordered my Beltman belt on Saturday (06-14-08). I ordered a 1 3/4" double layered bullhide (black) with stiffener. I read some impressive reviews on these belts, and with accolades above, I am quite anxious to receive mine. Depending on how this one is, I am probably going to order another one in a different color (probably a 1 1/2 for a little more dressier attire).
