I just bought a 1300 with a 30" fixed full choke plain barrel. What I really want is either an 18.5 or 20". I am debating cutting this one or selling this barrel to get what I want. A new short barrel would be about as much as I paid for the gun, so that's not all that attractive to me. So anyway, what is my existing 30" barrel worth?

Send it to Carlsons and have it cut & choke tubes installed.

It's only $85.00 bucks with three tubes & two wrenchs.

I bought a rifle-sighted 22" from www.midwestgunworks.com for around $180, already setup with winchokes. I bought it with turkey hunting in mind, but have found it to be very handy for other things.

i had the same problem with my 1300 i coudlent find any cheap barrels so i just cut it myself at the closest rib post above 18'' sanded down the rough edges and made sure it was straight then drilled and tapped the rib for a new bead all i have left to do is reblue the end of the barrel it looks pretty nice and definetly made the gun much handier.

Ok, guys, does someone have an answer for the actual question of the value of my existing barrel? I know it's not that hard to find a short one, but I need to know if I can expect to cover that cost by selling this one.
