G36 - Love it or hate it?

I have heard alot of Glock folks say they love the G36 for its small size and big firepower, but I have also heard lots of Glock folks say they don't like the G36. They are only satisifed with the bigger G30.
Any people with experience/feedback with a G36 here?

My brother has a G-36 that has fired more than 2000 rounds. He loves it, I hate it.
There are few guns that I can think of that were are uncomfortable to hold and shoot than the G-36. My brother says it fits his hand just fine. It stings my palm, pinches my little finger in recoil, gives me a blister on my trigger finger and feels like a 2x4. It is only a little smaller than many "full sized" guns and doesn't weigh all that much less either. It is not very accurate and has jammed at least 3 times.
I had a Sig 220 that was not much bigger or heavier but it would out shoot the G-36 any day. It was alos very comfortable to shoot and had very little recoil.
Bottom line is, try before you buy! Even if it feels good in your hand, you need to shoot the G-36 before you lay down your $600!
I only paid $50 more for my SIG 220 than my brother paid for his Glock 36 and I think I got a bargin and I think my brother got ripped off. A SIG 220 looks like a Rolls Royce next to the Glock's Ford Tempo.:D

I love my G30; it is one of my top guns. To me the 36 is not that much smaller then the 30 so I would rather have the 10 rounds. I also have big hands and with a magazine extender the 30 fits my hand perfectly.
My 2 cents,
John

I like mine!! It fits my hand a tad better than my G30. However, I see the point of the reduced ammo capacity folks also. As I am wont to do, I could not decide, so I now own both!! :D
They shoot about the same at combat distances. I see no real difference in the recoil. The only factor for me was the ammo capacity!! The G36 does, however, fit an ankle holster better than the G30!! :D
I'd go for it!! I'm sure your Tauri won't mind the company!!! :)

I like my 36...not love, not have, more something in between.

I had a G36 for a couple months. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. It didn't help that the recoil spring assembly broke apart on my first trip to the range with it. It doesn't do much for your confidence in a gun to have it fall apart in your hands while firing it.
As others have said, it wasn't really all that small, only held 6+1 rounds and wasn't particularly fun or comfortable to shoot IMO. So, I traded mine away (and haven't regretted it).
Definately shoot one before buying. The G36 seems to fit well for some and not for others.
I just can't seem to form lasting relationships with Glocks...every one I've owned, I've sold...

I think that the G36 is too close in size to the G30; whichever one came out first is going to kind of overshadow the later one.
I already had a G30, so when I saw the 36, I thought "Well, it is a smidge thinner, but I'd have to give up four rounds... Ehhh, I'll just stick with what I got."
