Can anyone help me with the value of a very clean S&W 51 without the box? The only two I can find online are listed at $1950.00 with the box.

I bought one in excellent condition a year ago this month.
I paid $275.00 to a shop that seems to like to keep things moving.
When I asked about the Model 51 on this forum, it was suggested
that the gun could be worth as much as $500.00

That sounds more in line. I didn't know that much about the model 51 so I was more confused when I could only find the two listed for $1950! Thanks.

$1950? One sold at the local shop recently for $550. There was no box, but it was 98% and it sat there for quite awhile. $1950 is ridiculous, was "gwimer" selling it? :)
