My friends and I want to do some skeet shooting this summer. I am on a budget as I am saving for classes in the fall, so what are some good platforms for around $50 or less. I am looking for quality and hopefully a device that secures to the ground rather than a truck hitch.

I haven't shot skeet since I was in boyscouts as a wee lad. Should be awesome. :D

I believe there is a thrower available at walmart for @ $30.00. Sticks into the ground or attaches to a spare tire. I've got one but I've had it for so long I can't remember the name! I do remember though that my wife got it at wally world unfortunatly.

If you can spend just a bit more, the Trius One Step for around $100 is usable even solo. Loads without spring tension and stepping down on the cocking pedal both cocks and throws. Once you get the rhythm of stepping and then setting to shoot, it's easy and fun. Of course, it's still best with more than one.

I am sold on the Trius unless someone names a better one. I'll take it out of my dining out expenses.

Thanks!

The Do-All Traps clay target thrower is usually about $30. I like ours.
