got a nice clean Mossy 835 w/ 28" barrel; came with factory full choke only; added H.S. Strut Undertaker choke for turkey(no steel shot) & Carlson's extened modified (mid-range steel) choke for waterfowl; I know the Mossy 835 is overbored & that the choke diameters will be a bit larger than standard 12 ga bores;

Undertaker (?X-full?) choke states .695"; Carlson's modified choke states .743"; factory full choke states .730"; after testing 2 steel loads thru the Carlson's & factory choke, neither load did exceptionally well; the factory full patterned just a bit better...I thought that modified patterned steel like full & full would overchoke and spread the load sparatically?!? :scrutiny:

before I jump ship, one of my hunting buddies suggested a different load with heavier payload & suggested a Kick's High Flyer Full choke ($60 I don't have); would a Carlson's extended full (long-range steel) choke (measures .700") be a decent choice for $30???

For steel, I'd go with an IC choke suitable for use in that overbored barrel. Steel needs little choke, you're probably overchoked and your pattern suffer thereby.
