Hey all. Just wanting to know if anyone of you have shot the yellow tipped Bulgarian 7.62x54 heavy ball. I just ordered a can from Wideners for $45/300. I have all types of x54, but not any of this stuff. Let me know what you think of this stuff. I may order more, but I don't want to open the can if I can keep from it.
Thanks all

The yellow tip heavy ball from wideners has been the best of from anywhere (amoung the bulgarian yellow tip) in terms of ****ty cases and the like. Its been really good stuff in all my mosins.

Thanks man. I heard it was good, but I value the opinion of folks that actually shoot this round. Didn't want to store a bunch of crappy ammo.

I have a bunch of Bulgarian light ball. Shot some this weekend out of a 91/30 and did pretty good shooting 3-4 1/2" groups at a hundred. The only problems is every once in a while I get a few loose bullets and dented and cracked brass. And a couple of time a bullet will be seated too far out. This causes the bolt not wanting to close and when you try to eject the live round the brass comes out but the bullet stays stuck in the throat. So then I have breakout the cleaning rod and dump the powder out of the action. Just inspect your ammo before you shoot them and you should be OK. A caliper is a very important tool for a gun owner even if you don't reload.

I think I will order a couple of cases, and sell some to my friends. Thanks for the heads up.
