I'd like to start black powder pistol shooting and have decided on the popular 1851 Colt clone from Uberti with a steel frame as I want to shoot it. Where is a good place to buy on line as I understand I can get these shipped directly to my home without going through an FFL. Thanks!

The best price I've seen on a Pietta 1851 Navy steel frame was at Arms to Armor, with Midway and Taylors just $10 more.

Although it is not a Uberti and is a .44 vs .36 I am very happy with my 1851 steel framed Pietta .44 1851 Colt that I bought from The Possibles Shop for the bargain price of $165.00. Don is a very good person to deal with and personally answers emails. I was very impressed with his attention to his customers.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going with a Midway Uberti as I have a C&R license and am set up as a dealer with them from previously having a Class 01 FFL. Thanks for the advice. I'm sure I'll be aksing a lot of questions about shooting the thing as it will be my first BP firearm. I've read the stickies which have a lot of great info.
