Steel receivers WILL last longer, but I will furnish one great venison dinner to anyone turning over to me a modern, US made major brand alloy receiver'd shotgun that's been used up.Dave, have you ever had to pay up on this? ;)
How about the Italian makers?

Nobody has asked me to pony up yet,pd. In all truth, I don't expect to. And right now, the freezer is Bambi-less.
We get a little obsessive about steel sometimes. With good design, the alloys used will last one terribly long time.
Next step, plastic. The Nova may be the start of new materials being used in both recreational and "Serious" shotguns. After all, nobody has shown me a shot out Glock either...

Thanks, Dave. IMHO, there are some good uses for plastic, and receivers are one of them.
Now... lemme think... Beretta... Benelli... Beretta... Benelli... ;) I really oughta find some place where I can shoot both and compare.
