Opinion please. Seacamp is in high 300s.

The Seecamp is proven, smaller and all stainless. The Ruger is a KelTec. If it were my money I'd buy the Seecamp.

I would have no problems buying the Ruger but the seacamp is a bargain. DO YOU KNOW WHY IT WAS TRADED??? If all guns that look alike act alike then why are people still buying Kimbers, Springers, Dan Wessons for high dolalrs when they could buy a Taurus for half or less??? I don't consider the Ruger lcp a Kt 380 either..

Seecamps are great, but heavier. I am seriously thinking of getting the Ruger and trying it out, just for that reason. :)

seacamp 11 ounces, kt 8.3 ounces, I would not consder the seacamp which is all stainless steel to be to heavy for pocket carry. cetainly not as lite as the kt but still extremely carryable. also the seacamp is noticeable smaller than the kt. Not sure I would pay a grand for a seacamp but the $300 figure sure sounds like a bargain to me. You can find good used kt's for about $150 also.

I paid $300 something for my Seecamp, and it gets carried in a pocket a lot.

I've never shot a Seecamp, but the ones I've looked at are real jewels, with exquisite workmanship. For that price I would take a chance.

I like my Del Fatti pocket holster. Palehorse leather also makes some nice stuff.

.380 has more stopping power than 32ACP. And Seecamp only feeds winchester silvertips which are expensive. The LCP feeds any brand 380 ammo. The price of the seecamp is very good so buy both.

Personally, I don't lose a lot of sleep over the 380 vs the 32, both are so so at best. Just keep shooting.

I saw the Ruger in action on their webpage. They showed the guys shooting it. Look reliable as heck, but it sure did seem to have a fair amount of recoil. Took bad they didn't shoe the target.

I have a Guardian and it was way too heavy and kicked more than I care for, but I'm a sissy.

If you're willing to live with 5 rounds, you can fit most pocket .357 magnum snubbies in the same pocket with said pocket holster and actually get some decent firepower.

As to your original question, I'd get the Ruger. I trust Ruger, they have good customer service and they make great guns.

I'd better go unload my Gold Dots, Hornady, Cor Bon and Fiocchi ammo.;)

Seecamp .32 current new list $425 - a used for $300 would be reasonable! I just sold my LWS .32 which I had carried on and off for several years - it's not that easy to get even $325 for a used one. Most of the people who realize just how nice these guns are also savvy about the new prices!

Check out the Seecamp home page - there is a bunch of new ammo that will work in this gun - not just the Winchester Silver Tip - although that is great ammo!

Buffalo has +P for the .32 now but they do not recommend it for the Seecamp since it does not have a fully supported chamber. (They being buffalo)

Seecamp. Just the right gun for dress situations where I am worried that my 342PD will be just a bit too noticeable.
I like the "wallet" holsters available through Seecamp I believe. Designed so that just the gun comes out.

Also check out Kramer Leather Below The Waistband holster. I did not remember I had this holster until I sold my LWS .32 - then I sold the holster. It would be perfect for a 2 O'Clock carry. It is a heavy little gun and needs to be held securely in a holster - I had the Kramer pocket holster and it filled the bill!

I think today I would choose the new little .380 Ruger. :)

I'd probably go with the Seecamp, as it is proven and the LCP still needs to go through it's growing pains.

I had a Seecamp once. It is very small, and overall a loaded weight of 13 ozs is fairly light. But since the gun is so small, that 13 ozs is fairly heavy. I had problems with it jamming, and I also had the hammer strut break while firing. It was also a pain to break down for cleaning.

I know there are a lot of good things about them too. The gun is well made, very small, and has good service backing it up. But it does have it's share of problems. Also you can't fire FMJ ammo out of it, only hollowpoints. For self defense with a .32ACP you are better off with a FMJ round to ensure penetration.

The LCP by Ruger is unproven, and I would wait and see how it goes this year before I'd buy it. You're other options are a Kel-Tec, and NAA for a guardian or mini. I've had 3 Kel-Tecs and had problems with all of them, and sold them all. I've never had a Guardian from NAA, but have had two minis, and still have the PUG. The PUG is very handy, and easy to shoot. The minis have always went bang for me, but it's only a 22 mag. But I do carry a PUG when my J-frame S&W 38 spl is too big for "dress clothes". Small pocket sized semi-autos seem to need more attention than larger guns, and usually have "bugs" to be worked out. Good luck with your search.

it might be unproven but there are already thousands out there floating around and I have yet to really read a downside of the lcp yet. At least no breakage of parts, like cracked slides, broken barrel lugs, cracked grips, broken triggers. Undoubtely there will be some bad magazines probably occuring, seems most autos suffer that issue at times, but over all the ruger is a success "out ofthe box""

I would choose the Seecamp over the Ruger, but the Ruger doesn't look like a bad little pistol.

Border, the Aker Express is the back-pocket holster currently sold through Seecamp, and they're great little holsters. I have the sharkskin version and use it every day.

buddah, the ammo recommendations have changed and are posted on www.seecamp.com.

from what I am hearing the Ruger will damn near shoot anything that goes in the pipe. My friend has a lcp with 2600 flawless rounds through it. It doesn't seem picky about ammo preference..
