The current production Smith & Wesson Model 25 3 inch, but oh boy, that price is high.

Nice but with an integral lock, no thanks. The price of new S&W revolvers of many types shocks me as well.

Wow, a grand? I can think of a lot of other firearms I'd rather have that are well under that price point.

Good luck - hopefully the price will become a bit more "realistic", so to speak.

Take care,

Nice gun, but no thanks. Not for anywhere near that price.

I like it! Best price I could find was $895 though.:(

The price of older revolvers is even more shocking. I would never sell a Ruger Security-Six for the prices people expect to pay for them. If I had my druthers, I'd much rather have an older S&W than a new one. I still kick myself for not keeping that gorgeous Model 13 I bought years ago. Paid $170 for it and it was very well crafted. It was considered an economy .357 back then, but you can't even buy a new gun with anywhere near that class.

Oh yeah, as long as we are talking about the new 25's. Does anybody own one and have you measured the cylinders chambers? The older 25's are usually described as oversized and some of their barrels like lead, but most like jacketed. Some 625's are undersized and out of round. Did they get it right this time?

Unless something strange has happened in the past 2 weeks, a couple dealers had these at local gunshows mid $700s. I've looked closely at them and even handled one. Very nice.

What's the old 25's got over this one?

Smith and Wesson. the only company that can produce such a long line of..."...The older 25's are usually described as oversized and some of their barrels like lead, but most like jacketed. Some 625's are undersized and out of round. Did they get it right this time?" and STILL people pay prices out the roof.

Amazing.

Glad to see somebody besides me is totally shocked at the MSRP these guys have put on their revolvers. Take a look at S+W website and freak out to the range of their prices! No wonder SWHC is trading at about $5.00/share...........the market understands that they are unrealistic and will probably only sell a dozen of them at those inflated prices. We are not all stupid and rich.

It seems to me new S&W revolver prices have risen much higher in the last 10-15 years than the pase of inflation. And 3rd gen S&W autoloaders always seemed to be higher than other comparable pistols from other makers.
