Kind of Blued

I saw one for the first time in a shop today. Six inch, blued & beautiful, compensator, 10mm.

Thats a whole lotta gun. :)

I've been reading up on it a bit, seems as though the major drawback is that if anything breaks, it becomes a paperweight, as parts are almost impossible to come by.

I don't own a 1911, and I don't completely understand the "linkless" design. Anyone willing to offer a simple explanation?

Has anybody had any experience with one? Any current owners?

The company which manufactured the conversion, Peters-Stahl, is still very much in business in Germany. Go to http://www.peters-stahl.com/ to view their product line. The linkless design meant that the traditional M1911 swinging link was not used in the barrel locking design of Joseph Peters.
