USFA 22 Plinker - Anyone have one?

I am interested in getting a 22/22mag SA type revolver and was pretty much set on the Ruger Single Six - then I stumbled on the 22 plinker on the USFA site. Does anyone have any experience with the plinker? It looks like USFA has a pretty good reputation for their SAA's except that they are a bit spendy. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I did some checking into those USFA Plinkers myself.
They are very nice top shelf SA's.
They are based on the full size SAA frame. "very heavy"
And they are indeed very pricey.
Those were a couple reasons why I decided to go the direction I did.
Located a used Colt New Frontier in great condition with both cylinders.
Then sent it right out for an action job and ivories.
In all I still spent a hair less than buying a new USFA plinker.
There are still a number of very nice New Frontier's and Peacemakers
out there for sale. Though the prices seem to be rising by the week.
Thats my 2 cents. ;)

The new Cimarron Plinkerton might be your answer. No where near the quality of the USFA Plinker or the Ruger. But, it is a full size and at a much better price.

Full size guns with little .22 holes drilled in their cylinders and barrels tend to be heavy. Heavier than a .45. If you like that have at it. As noted, you can shop around and find an original Colt that was about 7/8ths full size if I remember correctly. The steel framed ones were quite nice, and I owned 2. I have a Ruger Single Six now. I have small doubt it will still be functioning perfectly long after I am gone. Click for a look.

I prefer the 6-1/2" version myself. Svelt.
