Well we had another THR get together with the Nashville chapter coming out in full force. We had a converted Anti, a couple of kids, lots of guns and some very fun targets.

I shot my first 30-06:what: Encore pistol and that was a rush. I must admit to being a little shall we say apprehensive to shoot this beasty but I managed :D I think fun was had by all and the AK races were a blast to say the least.

Well everybody left without injury except for me and the two kids who were stung by bees. Sorry guys.

Anyway here are a couple of shots to summarize the day. We are waiting for some of our brothers and sisters to come across the state line to join us sometime.

Anyhow, thanks to everybody who came and let us borrow and shoot their stuff.

Chris

Is this not a content child. What we did today was FOR THE CHILDREN!! Yes sir for the children so take that VPC and others.

Once again I must say it is SHESLINGER'S AR-15, Not mine, not ours but hers. My lovely wife heroically put down a small Diet Coke can uprising by swiftly killing their leader in one shot.
http://www.hunt101.com/img/054915-big.JPG

Here is the whole gang mugging for the camera. Scary bunch I tell you. I swear that little kid up front is really the ring leader and I have suspiscions that he is really a midget :D
http://www.hunt101.com/img/054916-big.JPG

This one is for R. Lee. I swear I am sending this into Mail Call. After the ill fated Diet Coke Rebellion we had a watermellon or two get out of line. Although we gave them every chance in the world they had to be put down. I had my suspiscions that these were not front line troops, although as they seemed a little green.

See with my bayonette I do my part to keep the range clean :D

as soon as I eat some supper Ill post my pics. Will make some thumbnails I think to save the non broadband people.

Oh today was great....i had not shot since the last TN Mafia gathering. I still havent eat yet either....packed a lunch but as soon as we got there went right to shooting. Who ever came up with the idea for us to buy OEF_VET's marlin model 60 to give to Intune's son was a great idea....hats off to you who thinks of others. That kid just couldnt get enough of any of the 22's I dont think.

One gun of intrest there was my friend Mike's 1911. That gun was given to him by his grandfather in his will about 6 months ago. 60 year old gun with some history behind it, and a family eirloom(?spelling), he had never shot it. It went bang every single time....thank you JMB for such a great gun....and mike's family for having an interesting past.

well i must cook supper before I fall over.....pics to come

Today was a blast. Thanks to Glockten for leading the way - I'd have never found the place. Not to mention letting me fire my first AR-15 and Garand. Woo hoo! Must acquire more parts to continue building my AR...

Also thanks to Einnor1040 and his lovely wife for meeting up and letting me play with their toys as well. And the nice gentleman (whose name escapes me) who just FORCED me to fire a few rounds from his Nagant rifle. "They're only $100." Ya pusher. :D (Bryan goes to check SOG's web site ...)

As for injuries, the only thing I sustained was a sliced index finger from the lever on my own Marlin 1894C.

Everyone else I met was also very nice and fun to hang out with. I'm definitely looking forward to the next gathering.

I think Jules and I would like to have a get together where we don't shoot so we can actually have time to meet everybody and get to know them. Today was a bit hectic and it was hard to talk to everybody.

I am sorry if it seemed like anybody was ignored.

It was great fun though.

Thanks to Gamegod86 for letting Sheslinger shoot every Glock ever made. :D "Here try this one it is a small 9mm, well how about the 27 that is a small .40, of course you try the 23 a nice mid size .40, wanna try a 21, how about a 34...............It was like trying on shoes it was great.

Now if only he could rustle me up a Glock 18 for the next outing. Get on that wouldya'. :p

Yea Im down for a non shooting get together. dont know how soon you wanting it, but the Pope show is in I think 2 weeks. We can do like we did last pope show. Go to the show then go hang out, dont have to be your place either cslinger. We could head to the lake or something if we wanted. Oh thanks to glockten letting me shoot my first ever 10mm ever. Has like no kick compared to my 40. hmmm makes me think a 1911 in 10mm might be something good ;).

It was good putting faces with people like BryanP, elinore, oleg, betty(even tho i had seen her indirectly at a gun show). I am still so tired. Gun show for about 2-3 hours, then shooting for another 3 or 4. Sun beating down, no food cause I was too busy having fun, and just standing around so much. Im like wasted right now.

And everyone else not in the middle tn area....we are seemingly doing these about once a month anymore so think about it ;). Come join us in rapid fire semi autos :D

Kaylee, Sven, why not plan on a visit over the last weekend in August? I'll be there too, so we can catch up with each other at last!

Folks, if you want, we can have a non-shooting get-together on the 30th or 31st, if that's what you'd prefer. I'm hoping to meet all of you, and a non-shooting session will allow a bit more time for conversation...

Who will take charge of the planning and organization? If there's a contact person(s), we can all co-ordinate arrangements with him/her/them.

OEF_VET

I definitely had a great time today. To those of you who bought the Marlin for Addison, that was a really splendid thing. What a great group of people here.

Darrin, I do believe Connie is going to be buying some sort of firearm soon. Good job converting her. She has most definitely come over to our side.

Those pesky watermelons were vicious today. Even after being shot, they couldn't be repelled. Bowlcut and I ended up having to mount bayonet charges. (By the way, for those of you who might be concerned, we made sure the firing line was cold before we went forward of it.)

I am down for a non-shooting, social event. We better hold it as far away from a range as possible, or else it'll end up in another rock'n'roll session. Preacherman, I'm sure we can manage to put together something for the end of the month. There are enough active shooters here in the Music City Chapter of THR to guarantee that someone will be shooting on any given weekend.

I'm looking forward to the next one.

Hooray! I am finally home. I left the house at 7 this morning, and I just got back. (2 am)

I had a GREAT time today! Thanks to all for the hospitality. It was nice to meet you all.

Chris.... dude..... I am ALL OVER the G18. It's just the little thing about that class III license and all the associated hoops to jump through. (that and the fact that there are only something like 3 transferrable G18s in the US)

OEF... thanks for treating my son as kindly as you did. We appreciate it. He really enjoyed the opportunity to shoot those different guns.

I really try to never pass up an opportunity to shoot. We had AKs out the wazoo. Mosins, shotguns, and Glocks...Oh MY!

I think the Largest caliber on the range was a guy (not with THR) who had a Ruger No. 1 in 416 Rigby (?) WOW.

Intune...that .44 Ruger wheelgun was way cool. Thanks.

(can you tell that I am a recoil junkie?)

I, too, would like to attend a non shooting event. This bunch is a lot of fun.

Let's do that soon. Where's a good central location? Cookout at someone's house?

WooHoo!! What a day! What a great bunch of ladies and gents! Ad & I got there a little late (shocker) and Frank (OEF_VET) walked up and said that a bunch of the folks had gotten together and bought the Marlin 60 for Addison!! Sometimes people will do things that really make you proud to be associated with them. Thank you all! Adman was grinning the whole day and that night when I tucked him in he said, “people that have guns are nicer than regular people.” “Most of time, son, most of the time.” I thank all of you again for not only his first semi but for a positive life lesson as well.

If Todd asks you to bring some 30-06 remember that it's for a HANDGUN not a rifle! It wasn't as harsh as I thought it would be but it'll get your attention!

We snuck back out there yesterday and Ad fired up almost a whole box of 550. The Swede shoots great Frank! Thanks!

Well guys the next time somebody asks you what you do for RKBA you just tell him what you did for little Addison.

“people that have guns are nicer than regular people.” “Most of time, son, most of the time.”

Personally that is what I was going for. Hopefully 10-15 years from now he will be voting, or discussing guns and still remember the bunch of crazy gun nuts who were so out of control that they bought a kid a .22 and hovered over him so he would learn to shoot it safely. Geez we are a bunch of ignorant, baby killin' heathens ain't we.

Ok, that was my good deed for the rest of the year, everbody else is on their own.:D

Let's do both a shoot and a get together. If we do it on Sat the 30th we can shoot till about 4 or 5 and then go somewhere for food & refreshments. Sat would be better if we want to stay up late & swap stories. Adman has a soccer tourny in Bowling Green on 30-31 but we'll make it. If we miss the shoot I think I'll take the kids over to Mom's and wife & I will meet ya'll.
