I can't seem to load my Mod 11 properly. Ser is 803442.
With the bolt locked back i cannot move the loading ramp.
I have to depress the bolt release in order to move the loading ramp.
Once I do that I can load one round in.
Fully seating the round in the magazine requires me to relieve pressure on the bolt release.

I then depress it again and attempt to load a second round into the tube.
No avail. It cannot be pushed the rest of the way in.

Am I doing something wrong?

With the bolt back, throw one in the top and release. Then thumb 2 in the mag. If I understand correctly.

The magazine should accept more than just one shell. Perhaps there is a plug in the forward end of the magazine tube you could remove.

okay, kent had it. looks like a round is supposed to be chambered before you fill the tube.

but for some reason i can only get two in the tube. perhaps a limiter? i looked down the tube from the muzzle end and didn't see any long limiter in there.

is it okay to disassemble the tube? i know there are some parts that should not be disassembled.

Not sure on your particular Remmy...I had a "Sportsman" Model Rem 20-Ga way back yonder. It was made to only hold 2 in the magazine.

You don't have to charge the magazine with the gun loaded. Close the bolt first, then load 2 in the mag. Cycle the bolt to load the gun, then slip another in the mag.
Sounds like you have a "Sportsman" Is the forearms curved at the end, and have a small, short magazine cap?
Like this?

Or is it like this?

If like the second, it could still have a plug in it. They used to make a wooden plug the diameter of the magazine spring, that fit over the end of the spring.
Hope this helps.

the second type.
so... i assume it is OK to take the mag tube apart? there aren't any crazy parts in there that can't be put back without a robot?

Sounds like you gun has a plug in it. In alot of states for
migratory birds your gun can only hold 3 rounds. In Colorado
if nothing has changed even pheasants have the 3 round limit.
With some guns it is just a wooden or plastic plug. My dads B-2000
Browning held 5 and we had to limit it to 3 so I carved him a plug
like out of my remington. He took the magazine tube cap off and
parts flew all over, some semi-auto are much diffrent in this area than
pump guns.
