List your top 3 "NEW" handgun cartridges.

I am posting the same kind of survey in the rifle section so please stick to pistol cartridges. Pick your 3 favorite handgun cartridges that have come out in the last 20 years. I opened the window a little wider on this one and it was mostly done to include the 40 S&W just because I think it is one of the most significant developments in the last 20 years or more. Where are all those guys that said it would never last now? So, my top 3 are:
40 S&W
357 Sig
460 S&W
followed closely by the 500 S&W:D

I agree that the .40S&W is great, and the .460 is intriguing, but I have little use for most of the others.

I'm a fan of the .454 and so the .460 is appealing to me.
I like the .357 Sig since the .357 mag is such a great round I don't see any reason why autos shouldn't have it as well.
But number one on my list? The 10mm! It just misses thr 20 year cutoff by a few years but in the spirit of things I'd say it's worth it.
It would be a monsterously popular round if the FBI didn't ditch it. I'd argue most departments would be issuing the 10mm.

I gotta go with Brian on this while I love the 10mm it misses your cutoff and 357 sig well that question was answered 78 years ago with the 38 super. and if my 44 mag won't do I'm bringing a rifle so no 460 for me.

For handguns, I own only the old standards - .22 LR .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .45 ACP.
When I decided to take a "walk on the wild side" I went with a Mak and a Nagant.
Not a "modern" caliber in the bunch.

20 years? Hmm, well, I don't shoot anything that new. LOL Serious, I don't see the need.
I guess, if I had to pick something, .460 and .454 are obvious, well, I think .454 is over 20 years old, though. Dang, well, .460 then. It does break new barriers in hunting revolver ballistics. I don't want one, just sayin'. I do want a .454 Freedom Arms someday, more for the gun than the caliber, but it also shoots .45 Colt.
I guess, even though I don't care all that much for it, you have to acknowledge how the .40 S&W has taken over law enforcement. It probably outsells the other calibers in law enforcement now, at least in this country.
I give a nit for .357 Sig. It does nothing the .40 can't energy wise and the forty shoots a bigger bullet. Necking down cases rarely accomplishes much unless you're looking for another application as with necking the .250-3000 down to .22-250 to built the ultimate long range prairie dog gun.
I think the .460 really shadows the .500 ballistically. The jury is out on the .327 Federal, but I don't know that it'd be my cup of tea until they put it in a smaller, lighter gun. It could have merit in a scandium J frame. It could turn out to be my other pick, but not in the Ruger SP101. I'll take the .357, thanks.
Hell, I don't think I have a third choice. Like I say, it could be the .327 Federal if it gets picked up in a really small, light revolver. Time will tell.

Ew, I know! I have one. 7mm TCU. It ain't new in TC barrels, but to my knowledge, the ammo has never been produced. So, it's so new, it ain't been offered, yet! :D Makes a GREAT long range gun for stuff like IHMSA, why I got into it. Would make a good hunting caliber, but I'm sorta partial to my .30-30 barrel. The ammo looks really cool, .223 necked up to 7mm and fire formed to a straight case with a sharp shoulder. Looks real 21st century. :D It's a pure handgun cartridge, too, not offered in a rifle that I know of. It was developed as an IHMSA round.

I actually don't have anything that new in my inventory. I am interested in the new .327 in a Ruger SP101 for my wife if it comes close to living up to the hype. Of course since it is just showing up in the magazines my guess is it'll be a while before a common guy sees one.

I stick to .22, .38/.357 .45 and 9mm.
BTW a tidbit for some, .454 Casull is hardly new - it was developed in 1957.
The newest cartridge that I like is the 10mm, but it was made in 1983.

I have a couple.
I really like the 9x23 Winchester. It enables me to have 357 Magnum ballistics in a 8+1 capacity autoloader, with less recoil and less muzzle blast. You also get faster reloads.
Second will be the 460 Rowland. Same as above but with 44 Magnum ballistics vs the 357 of the 9x23.
Third would have to be the 10mm, that gives 41 Magnum ballistics in an autoloader.
JMHO, YMMV.

.40 S&W, for sure.
It's not a handgun cartridge, but 6.5 Grendel is really the only other "new" one I like.
