RRA two stage trigger issue

Anyone know why a RRA's two stage trigger would not reset the first stage if released before second stage? If I pull back just to the point of the second stage breaking, then release, the trigger stays put. If I release tension on the hammer, it goes back into place.

The first thing that comes to mind is a worn/damaged, or incorrectly installed trigger spring.

Does the trigger reset correctly after you break the shot?

Yes, it does reset.
