Here is the background:

(1) I'm in the military;
(2) Currently stationed abroad;
(3) Claim TX as my state of legal residence;
(4) Secured a VA Non-Resident CCW about two years ago.

My next duty assignment is in Maryland, but I will be living in VA (for obvious reasons).

As I understand VA law, I can obtain a VA Resident CCW as long as I am domiciled in VA. That is, I don't have to have orders assigning me to a base in VA; I simply have to show that I rent or own in VA and I am physically located in VA. legal residence (i.e., TX).]

For those of you in the know: Does this sound about right?

Taken from the VA State Police website:

Any person 21 years of age or older may apply in writing to the clerk of the circuit court of the county or city in which he or she resides, or if he is a member of the United States armed forces, the county or city in which he is domiciled, for a five-year permit to carry a concealed handgun. There is no requirement as to the length of time an applicant for a Concealed Handgun Permit must have been a resident or domiciliary of the county or city where he or she resides.
