I have a NAA Black Widow that I occasionally carry in .22 mag.
I have tried a 642, but it's bigger than I like.

So I'd like to find a DA revolver in something like .32 H&R magnum.
It would be midway between a NAA mini and a 642 in overall size.
Something like a short-barrel Bearcat, except DA.

Is there such a thing?

Ruger made a revolver in 32, but I'm not sure of its size.

SP101 came in .32 H&R. It's bigger and way heavier than the 642. I can't think of any revolvers specifically designed for .32.


If the 642 is too big, maybe you should consider carrying something besides a gun. Or, hell, get a derringer.

I already carry a P3AT, or a P11 or Astra A75 when cold weather allows bulky clothes.

I'd like a revolver in the size of the P3AT with most of the punch.

And no, please don't go to the "if it doesn't start with a 4..." BS.

Smith made an Airweight revolver the same size as the 642, chambered in 32 mag. It is no longer in production. I am not aware of any revolvers made to your desire.

I don't think anyone makes a revolver half way between a mini and a J frame smith.

An NAA mini scaled up to take .327 magnum sounds like a sweet pocket piece to me! To the best of my knowledge, nobody makes anything even in that neighborhood.

Smith and several others long ago made some vest pocket sized 32 shorts with bird's head type grips that might be the right size, but the didn't pack much of a punch. A modern version in .380acp might be worth considering...

I think it needs to be .32 to get into the right size range. A .380 is essentially the same diameter as a .38 Special, so the cylinder would be J-frame size.

And yeah, .327 would be fine, but I'd settle for .32 H&R Mag.

Long ago Colt made some .32 revolvers that were the size of a J-frame. They're hard to locate locally, so you'll have to search on-line for one, and won't have the opportunity to handle it first.

A 5 shot .32 H&R Mag built on a minimal scadnium frame, with a folding trigger and a ~2" barrel would be the ticket if you ask me. A modern "velo-dog" with a bit more punch.

Ideally, I would like a quality 5 shot 9mm Parabellum that is actually scaled down to the cartridge, not a rechambered j-frame. Yes, I know Taurus made one kinda like that, but I don't think they took it far enough.
