I need some large pistol primers, 5000 if possible, either CCI or Winchester. Does anyone know of some on sale?
I found a couple of thousand at Alpine Range (a local shop here in Ft.Worth) for $27.99 per thousand. The other prices I found were around $29.99 per thousand.
I know it has been a while since I needed to buy any. The last time I bought some I bought 10 thousand, but these prices are killing me.
Midway has them, with my discount, for $24.99 per thousand, plus shipping and haz-mat.
Thanks,
Jim

powder valley has about the best prices around. You have to deal with the shipping and hazmat but if you order enough it won't matter.

Does their price include shipping charges?

I agree Powder Valley (http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/) is probably the best online dealer to buy powder and primes from at this time. NO, the prices don't include S&H or the Hazmat fee but if you order both primes and powder in the same order they won't hit you with a double Hazmat fee like on Midway and most of the other online dealers.
Winchester LPP are $107.50/5000 ($21.5/1000)
CCI LPP are $112.50/5000 ($22.5/1000)
Wolf LLP are $90/5000 ($18/1000)
I don't think you will save much if you buy only 5000 primers but if you buy 10k primers and a 8lb can of powder you will save a lot over a local dealer because you were able to spread the $20 Hazmat over the cost of many products. 8lb of W231 = $108, that's only $13.5 per lb!! That's down-right cheap compared to the $20 or more they are charging in the stores these days!!!
If you buy 10k LPP and a 8lb jug of powder the Hazmat fee will add just over a dollar to each lb of powder and each 1K box of primers, not too bad...

I just found (2) 1000 bricks of Win LPP's for $14.97 each at a large chain store. Of course I snatched them right up.
Powder Valley has the best prices, and good service. The Hazmat is no big deal, maybe you can get a buy started where you live to spread the money around some? Know any reloaders?

Powder Valley.
I just bought two 8lb jugs of bullseye and 20,000 Wolf LP primers from there.
Primers were $18/1000, BE was $91.50/8lb jug ($11.44/lb)
A friend and I split everything right down the middle, including shipping & hazmat. So I got 8 lbs of powder and 10,000 primers for under $300.

Reid,
That seems to be the only way to get a good deal over the past year or so. Too bad we have to lay out $300 to save money though. I did it too but I didn't like it!! LOL
