How to build-up the stock

I've got a scoped .22 that I can't get a decent cheek-weld on. It takes a chin-weld to see through the center of the scope. I bought some foam weatherstripping tape from the hardware store. Works, sorta, but it's too squishy.
How can I build up the stock so that I can get a decent cheek weld? Cheap is good. Tape or adhesives are fine. Modifying the stock is not. It doesn't have to look pretty.

Be glad to help out but first what kind of stock do you have? Wood or synthetic?

Maybe lower rings would be better...
Cabelas sells a leather lace on comb riser. It will get you about an inch and is padded.

And this kit:

Wood stock. I don't think I can go any lower on the rings, as it's a center-fire scope with a fairly big objective.

Bass Pro Shops sells these kits for around $20. One of these worked great for me when I put a scope on a high mount on my CETME.
