I have not done any muzzleloading in over 20 years, and when I did, it was with black powder and patched round balls. I was heavily involved in competitive shooting tournaments at the time.

I have no desire to go back to "burning charcoal," but have gotten interested in the new line of muzzleloading rifles--the ones with 1-in-28" twist barrels designed to shoot sabots and loads with modern BP substitutes. My interests would be for hunting larger game, like deer. I have been looking at the Knight, Thompson Center (Omega), and Remington rifle advertisements. They all sound inviting.

What recommendations would you have for me as I get back into frontstuffers.

Also, do you prefer the pellets or grainular powder. I won't do much shooting of the rifle during the year--just mainly before and during hunting season.

Thanks in advance,
Rafter-S
