Does the Kimber KPD even exist?

I've never seen one in real life. Not at a gun show. Not at a gun store. Not on gunbroker.com. Never heard anyone even talk about them.
The only place I have ever seen one is in magazine advertisements. And I've been seeing the ads for... oh, it's got to be about two years now. But yet I've never sen the gun.
I really don't care.. I wasn't planning on buying one. Another striker fired polymer just doesn't get my motor running. But I just wanted to know if these things even exist. Anyone?

I was wondering the same thing. The Kimber KPD, and the Wilson ADP seem to be vaproware. Every now and then I hear of someone shooting one, or seeing one, but I never have found one anywhere, nor seen one in real life, or anywhere other than the manufacturer's websites.

They continue to be advertised in the gun rags as if they are already out there. Seems to be an urban legend at this point. If a gun company has their act together, I usually see them at local gunshows no later than the time the first ad breaks. I'm a regular at several local shops and at all area (and some regional) gunshows. If they were in production, I feel like I would have seen at least one. As a gunowner, I wonder if these companies who pull this crap realize how aggravating :cuss: it is when they do something like this.:banghead:

It's now called a Ruger SR9.
:)
Dunno if that's true or not, but DANG the SR9 looks like the KPD.
The Wilson ADP is real, and I've handled several. They were the first pistols I ever handled that made a KelTec seem substantive and high-quality in comparison.

I saw the KPD at the SHOT show in '06 and '07. I don't care if I never see another one.
I've shot an ADP. I don't care if I never see another one of them, either.

Probably limited production and very few buyers. There are 0 KPDs and just 3 ADPs on GunBroker right now.

I've seen one ADP. It was used but very good condition. I thought about buying it (largely b/c of the Wilson name). Then I went home and researched it and let somebody else take the fall. Now I have a much lower opinion of Wilson for putting (risking) their name on something like this.

I went to the local guns how today with the specific mission of trying to find a KPD and a Ruger LCP. There was none to be found of either model. Even one of the vendors said he is starting to wonder if the Kimber really exists.

That's my story too, except the store had both a new and used ADP. Thought I'd found a plastic P7 PSP. Read a report on THR about the total collapse of one and decided to pass.

Today I was at the Crossroads of the West gunshow in Costa Mesa, CA. One vendor had five ADPs in a glass case. I didn't bother asking to handle one as they looked terrible and I had no money for a handgun anyhow.

KPD is no longer on Kimber's website. It was recently, cause I remember seeing it on there just a week or two ago.

It's too bad because I really thought it looked promising. I do agree that it looks very similar to the Ruger SR9, but I think the Kimber looked better. I wonder how mechanically similar they are (or aren't)...

SGC (http://scottsdalegunclub.com) is now a Wilson "Master Dealer." I went there yesterday to shoot. There were lots of 1911s (ranging from $2500 to over $4000:what: - no thanks), but not an ADP in sight. :D
A lot of gun makers are bad about announcing a new gun and then having it take months or years to show up for public consumption, or not show up at all.

Not in stock but they seem to be selling them. Surprising how competitively priced it is.

They still have ads for KPDs in new gun magazines...

Anyone else disappointed with Impactguns for their absolute garbage ability to get the right picture for the guns they've got? Seriously look at the CZs, they have an SP01 picture where their P01 is advertised, not a great 'minor slip' for their website when the side of the pistol proclaims loudly "SP01".

And they are always out of stock of everything. Almost like they never get any guns in stock. Hmm

Gunnie--I don't remember exactly how I came up with that name. I used to be D24fan on another forum, where supporting members could change their name. Now, I know you don't know me, so I will tell you: I have refused to grow up, period. I guess it is just a reflection of my infantile nature. It seems I remember it just popping into my head and me thinking it was catchy, so I changed my name. I still love it, although it probably doesn't get me much credibility in a serious post!

I saw an advertisement for this gun the other day and thought it looked like the SR9 as well. It says it has second strike capability, so I don't know if it's a true striker fire design or what. Interesting that it's just vaporware apparently.
I had never heard of the KPD before. It also strangley reminds me of a Sigma.
