I have a Para CCW (4.25").

What do you carry your 4 1/4" 1911 in?

Mine is for a 3" but for the price, quickness, and quality that Nick provides, he cannot be beat. Period.

I have two favorites, both by Milt Sparks. The Summer Special and the Versa Max II.

My 3 1/2-inch rides in a custom holster made by Tom Dyer at Saguaro Gun Leather.

He only makes holsters to fit the gun so you may have to send him yours while he makes the holster.

Do a search under Saguaro Gun Leather if you are interested.

For the last two years he's the only leather guy I use.

What are you looking for, IWB or OWB.

Milt Sparks Summer Special or one of the many copies. These will keep it close and attached to your person.

Rinspeed,

I think I would like an IWB to help conceal the muzzle. I have a owb holster for my SP101 that I made removable (snap off) belt straps for so that I can also wear it IWB. I am suprised that no one makes a similar holster.

Two of my favorites are the Alessi Talon Plus (top left) and the Sparks SS (2 on top right). Both are very busy so unless you can find one from a distributor be prepared to wait. The Sparks VM-II is probably the most recommended IWB holster you will find. It's just very rare that you will hear from someone that isn't thrilled with theirs. I went to order a VM-II last month but Sparks is so busy they are only taking so many orders a month. When that number is reached you have to wait until the first of the next month. Lou Alessi is one of the very best and the holsters of his I have fit the pistols perfectly.

Rinspeed,

Thanks for the info. Your favorite (Alessi) looks very nice. I have a thumb break on all my holsters. I am very active and have a 2 1/2 year old, and I feel more comfortable on the jungle gym with a second layer of protection.

Does the Alessi have a tenatious hold?

Do you think that anything is lost by it not having 2 attachment points offset to either side of the holster like others such as HBE?
