I have been offered a Tanfoglio 9mm for a good price. Tanfoglio guns are pretty well-known in europe, and are imported into the U.S. by European American Arms.

Does anyone out there have any experience owning or firing Tanfoglios?
Thanks.

Hello. I've owned an early TZ75 9mm and a Witness .45 as well as the TZ75 Compact. All fed and ejected reliably. All grouped very well. The only problem I had was that the fixed sights on the full-size TZ were not regulated and POA did not equal POI. Such was not the case with the Compact; it was on and the Witness had adjustable sights. They held zero properly when set. Finish was OK, but not "great," and the trigger pulls were a little rough in DA, but fine in SA on the guns I tried.
Best.

Not pushing THR out of the picture at all here....It is my second home after all :D But youll find a WEALTH of info on the CZForum in the Clones sect.
All people are welcome....this is a part of our forum dedicated to CZ Clones...which Tan. is the biggest supplier in the world.
In short...they are a great gun. Witness or EAA quality control seems less critical than other companies...not an uneducated opinion. The only Witness I ever ordered was a Wonderfinish Compact 10mm. The gun went back with a badly pitted barrel bore......
But to be fair...most of the guns are great and the owners give them RAVE reviews......
The Tan. guns were the first to knock a 1911 from the Comp. gun circles and win the hearts of many Comp. shooters world wide...that says alot.
Shoot well

Very good pistols. They do a lot of tuning for IPSC guns in Europe and they are a blast!!

They could only be better if they were actual CZs. My 10mm has a superb
trigger in both DA and SA. Has been 100% reliable with any and all ammo
to this date. Like CZs, they are very overlooked in this country, but held in
high regard by European shooters.

In general theyre very good guns.My GT-27 however was very soft steel and showed considerable wear after 100 rounds and that was using wimpy 25acp!:barf:

Tanfoglio Witness pistols generally can be relied upon and are CZ clones. The internal design has been altered from that of the original CZ. Check out the CZ Clone Club board over on CZForum.com . Lots of posts on various Tanfoglio Witness pistols, as well as other CZ clone designs.
The only drawback to Tan's in the USA is the fact that they're imported/serviced here by EAA(European American Armory). I'm not alone in having had some "interesting" communication and experiences in trying to get EAA to service a new pistol that wasn't functioning properly.
If you can, put some rounds through the proposed purchase(and use more than one type/design of ammo), just to make sure it functions okay before you put you money down.
Good luck. Shoot safe, shoot well!
