I use 122g .311s when I can get them, last few times I've used pulled 150g .308s with 25g of IMR 4895. I'm shooting them in a Yugo M70 with a red dot scope and at 50 yds they hit just fine.

You can safely use the .308, .310 and .311. Just remember to set up your FL sizing die with the proper sized expander button. Most 7.62x39 FL dies come with both a .308 and a .310. You rifle will tell you which size, brand, type and weight it prefers in the accuracy dept. If accuracy is not a concern, buy whatever is the cheapest.

I reccomend bullets labeled 7.62x39, such as the Hornady .310dia 123gr SP. I have been using those to good effect in a Yugo SKS and WASR 10. I also plan on starting to cast for this caliber, with the Lee tumble lube .312 diameter 160gr bullet mould, as soon as I get the darn thing.
Find a Loadbook at your local Sportsman's Warehouse, or Midway USA for a lot more info.
Fun caliber, but in a WASR platform, don't expect laser-like accuracy!

Where do you buy the brass for 7.62x39?

The 303 bullets are a tad heavy, IMO. They seem to do better in the 7.62x54R. I've had okay performance from the 123gr range. Brass is availiable, but pricey.

Just to be clear on this. The original post said "wasp", everyone seems to assume that he means "wasr". But isn't the 5.45x39 cartridge called the wasp? Just thinking the discussion should be all on the same page.
