Okay, we have Davis up for recall.
As we all know every idiot with some cash and a few friends are getting on the ballot. This could really screw us as it divides up the voters and lowers the total the winner will need to get in office.
I have a proposition.
We need to get all the gun owners that we can reach to agree to a candidate and back him or her solidly. We may not agree on everything they stand for but we can reach a concensus on the big things.
Put some form of time frame like 30 days to propose candidates and debate the various choices, and then 5-10 days of posting your votes, 5 days to tally and confirm a choice and then 10-15 to get out a unified front for that candidate. Remember, Jessie ventura won by waiting until the last 2 weeks of the election then bombing the media.
If we do something like this let's all go out to the various gunboards and ranges and stores in our individual AOs and let people know to log on to voice their choice.

This is only a suggestion for how to do it, feel free to suggest other ways or voice your support for this idea. Or you can tell me I'm nuts, but you'll have to take a number and wait for it to be called!

At this time the most likely pro gun candidate is Tom McClintock. Any other suggestions?

If we all get behind McClintock, he might get 6% of the vote instead of 4-5%.

Arnold is a total publicity machine and everyone has stars in their eyes.

The fact is, there might be 50-150 CA gun owners on this board - even if we all muster and stump, we might get 500 people to vote our way.

Arnold is polling in the 42%-48% range. That would be decent in a normal election but in this election, he will win by a relative landslide if he holds that lead.

The next closest person - Busamante I think was in the 23% range.

Arnold has it in the bag.

You can't fight tradition. Kali has a history of voting for abysmal actors with no political experience if they smile brightly and lie without blinking. Just pray he doesn't end up in the White House in a few years like the last clown did.

I'd love to see Tom McClintock win it, but I reckon Pendragon has called it right.

Yeah, it's that "reality" stuff all right- political "Reality TV" and Kali voters will eat it up.

I just hope Arnie isn't as anti-gun as I'm afraid he might be...

On a related note, which other elected idiots in California look vulnerable to recall (Bustamente :))? Depending on how the Davis recall goes, other petitions might do well. IMO it isn't too soon to start contingency planning.

Cheers,
