rotating magazines

I would like to know how long everyone thinks it is acceptable to keep a magazine loaded before rotating it with a fresh one. In particular, this is my Glock 23 that I am inquiring about. I have the hi-cap mags for it and want to feel confident that it will function properly if I should ever need to use it. Thanks, Mike

If you are asking about the ammo that's one thing . If you are asking about "the mag spring might take a set " that's something else. A properly made mag spring will NEVER take a set. It's only an urban legend that it will. After all the recoil spring gets much heavier use than a mag spring but no one seems to think that the recoil spring will take a set. Don't worry about it . As for the ammo rotating is a good idea. When you practice just use up the ammo in the mags.

Thanks mete,
I was referring to the mag spring and not the ammo, sorry for not being clear on that point. Mike
