Anybody familar with a knife maker named Jim Beltrane? I just bought a 13 inch stag grip switch knife with a Kress blade that was made by him. I really do not know who he is so if he is a major knife guy and if this reads stupid, please forgive me.

I am not a big knife collector. Case, Kabar, Cold Steel and Bark River are in my small collection. BTW, the carbon steel on the Bark River Natches Bowie is just wonderful. I actually tried shaving with it and lived to write about it. I should heal up by summer. No, just kidding. It went smooth enough though I still prefer Gilette.

Thanks in advance for any info on this Beltrane guy.

Sorry, I'm no help, but you might want to ask on talkblade.info; they have a switchblade forum. (http://talkblade.info/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=84d88c768fef20da2425f35887610ca8)
