What is the world coming to these days?

Here is a story about a 19 year old kid who went off the deep end.

There is an irc conversation with some graphic language. However, it is instructive. There is a video (news video, with blurred images) as well.

This kid could have gotten into a house and really gotten to somebody. Even in my nice liberal safe neighborhood, we had some kid going around setting houses on fire, whether there was someone in there or not.

They interviewed a neighbor who basically said, "He was a good kid, I don't know why they had to shoot him in the stomach when they could of just shot him in the leg or something".

Okay, so a police officer has just seen a naked man with a knife jump over a police car, rush up to her drivers side window break it out with the knife to get at her and she is suppose to calmly shoot him in the leg?

If it was me it would have been hard to stop shooting after two rounds. I probably would have been so scared the whole magazine would be empty.
