Arizonans - call your Senator to request support of SB 1214 - it should be scheduled for debate this coming Tuesday which will be the deadline to get it passed by the Senate just in time to get it scheduled for a Hearing in the House by the deadline of next Thursday. Otherwise it will become a dead bill. An amendment was required to gain last few required votes, for full details as well as a link to the amendment, see this post:

Just a quick update - AZCDL informed me that it is actually today that they want to have the bill passed in the Senate - probably to allow 24 hrs to get it scheduled with the House before the 48 hr deadline.

Bad news - bill is dead. Not enough votes to pass in the Senate. Looks like this important step towards freedom will be postponed yet another year. :(

Indeed. Thanks for the updates, swifteagle. The good news is that campus carry bills are not dead in every state. That'll help. It's good to have a state or two to point to, next time, and say "Well... remember all that blood in the street? Where is it?"

This is very disappointing indeed.

Maybe that bill that makes illegally concealing a weapon a petty offense will pass though...?
