Whew! That's a tough question!

How about Chicago, LOL! That'd be funny!

Anyway, I chose Memphis. I felt it needed to be a city that is tourist oriented but not with a lot of other attractions. Dallas seems a little too big and the Hall could get lost in the haze. Most of the rest just don't seem like tourist destinations where such a thing would get any attention.

What?

No cities in Gun Valley?

I'm shocked!

Greeting's All-

I voted for Kansas City, MO cuz of its location!:D Should
be convient for most commute's. I know that its
very convient for my ole" bud Blueduck.:) :uhoh:

FootNote: Notice I didn't vote for Birmingham, AL. I was
afraid that someone might stop by and try to enshrine
a stolen RG! (Laughing Loudly)

Well, I picked Portland Oregon....can't be Sandiego in the Republick!!

Needs to be a handgun friendly state....so, bye bye DC.....and CA and NY and Mass....

Miami was a possibility... but the Bastista exiles may try to claim to much power for themselves(whatelse is new?)

Atlanta is a good possibility......

Missouri is not really handgun friendly nor Kansas

Tempe Arizona is a GREAT possibility too!!!

Anyway, is the handgun hall of fame a real possibility, or is this just a mental exercise!?!?!

Actually, if I could vote again...it would probably be Arizona...up near Prescott preferably.......Gotta have a Room in Uncle Jeff's(colonel Cooper, USMC, Ret.) Honor!!

Right now, "The Handgun Hall Of Fame" is just a mental
excercise. Unless of course, someone wants to step up
to the plate and make a HEALTHY contribution!:D :uhoh:

Memphis, TN....

Kind of in the middle of the country, and near my hometown.

Anybody heard of a firm named Colt?

Or, S & W?

I know things aren't the same, but it's gotta be Springfield or Hartford.

Commutes be damned, you have to honor history, if you intend to do so at all, at the site that it was created!

So, no voted by me, since the choices were irrational.

No Hartford? No kidding.

Utica NY would make more sense than some of those choices.

Ok I'll pick Colordao Springs but only because the pro rodeo hall of fame is there too.

Of the cities listed, I would pick Dallas. It's in a fairly gun friendly state and it is a travel hub to millions each year. It would be easy to create a short layover there to go to the museum.

Fairfax, Virginia.

Why?

Because I live here, that's why.

And there's already a GREAT firearms museum here.

Morgan,utah.

I know what Andrew is thinking, but it would actually have to be Ogden Utah. Ogden is where the workshop was actually located.

Hartford or Springfield? Hall of fame needs to be in a state that at least honors CCW or there goes most of your attendees.

No Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven, North Haven, Sprinfield?

What were you thinking, man???

Maybe you want to move the Hockey Hall of Fame to Dallas, or maybe San Antonio?

I voted DC. Think about the uproar it would cause when the Handgun Hall of Fame was erected in a city full of blissninnies that has outlawed handguns!

How about Geneseo, Illinois. You've got both Amalite and Springfield Armory there and within a stone's throw there is Rock River Arms and Les Baer.

Why is it that so many firearms manufactures are located in states that are not gun friendly?

While Dan didn't say it, I think the reason would be that to have this in any of the areas where a major manufacturer is located would be to imply favoritism.

Sorta like having an NFL TEAM Hall of Fame in Dallas.

Another vote for Ogden, Utah.

If that doesn't work, how about Las Vegas?

Gunbarrel City, Texas.

I think it should be someplace that is historically associated with the handgun - particularly its widespread use. This would mean somewhere like Dodge City, KS, Tombstone, AZ, or somewhere like that. Can we get historical statistics on the number of people killed by handguns in various cities?

None of the above. None are suited to being called home of 'The Handgun Hall of Fame'. Each and every one (Burlington is the exception and the only one close to deserving due to VT's laws) have been hostile in one manner or another to handguns and handgunners. Besides the history dosen't fit the purpose either.
So I'll post my own list.

Abilene, KS
Dodge City, KS
Deadwood, SD
Tombstone, AZ
San Antonio, TX
Cheyenne, WY
Lincoln County, NM
Anywhere in MT
Fairbanks, AK :D (Due to our rather libertarian gun laws and gold rush history)
Virginia City, NV
St. Joseph, MO

Feel free to add to or comment on this list. Looking at the list, these places have historical merit.
Come on, Washington DC?? Don't make me :barf: .

I voted for Portland, but thats because I live just outside of it (like less than a mile from the city limits).
