So I Might Be Moving To A Rather Unfriendly RKBA State and I Want One Last SIG.

So here is the real deal, the question we have all been training for with those you can only have one more or you can only have one gun threads.

This time it is real. I may be moving and if I do I will not buy any more guns. Now I don't NEED anymore guns but would like to have one more SIG to add to the collection and I will most likely pick up a 20inch Bushmaster for myself.

Now about the SIG think about it in terms of the last handgun you would be buying for an indefinite amount of time, probably years. Although I would like things like a P7M13 or an Ed Brown Kobra, or a SIG P210 these simply are not feasible on monetary front so lets just stick to what I love best....SIGs.

Now I really like the 226ST but it is pricy. I have a hankering for a P232 in .380 just because I don't own a .380 and it is such a comfy classy looking piece I also am one of the few people who likes the P245. Then again SOG has a P220 9mm that would allow me to shoot my beloved P220 style much more frequently So lets get to voting to see where this things goes.

Chris.

Why not get the P220 from SOG and a P226 from CDNN for under $400 right now?

Just curious, what state are you moving to, even my state of CA will allow you to purchase SIGs?

Of your choices, I'd go w/ the 226st since this purchase is going to be the last for a while, amortize the price over that time & consider it inexpensive ;)

MD,

Not that I can't buy guns it is just too much hassal and expense. With MD new internal lock law on handguns and waiting periods on black rifles and and and.............If we end up moving I just want to have the arsenal and call it a day.

I want one more EBR and possibly one more SIG.

I am leaning towards a 20inch AR 15 and the SIG 220 in 9mm or getting a DSA FAL in .308 since I don't own a .308 and the magazines are cheap and plentiful.

It's not that I couldn't get new guns it's just too much hassal.

Where in MD? Depending on where you will work or go to school, you could always live in Va or WVa. No need to live there unless you're too far from the border. Keep in mind, with traffic being as it is in this area, living near your job might present a commute as bad or worse than living in another state and commuting via a lightly used route. I hope that makes sense to you...

You didn't have another choice to pick. You know, the one that says stay in TN and just keep adding to the armory. Do it for the possible future 'Slingers!

I like Intunes suggestion. What would any future TN THR gatherings be without the Slingers. :(

Like you always say...It's for the children....

Well so far unless Sig has added an internal lock to their guns you won't be able to buy one unless it was made before Jan 1, 2003. Of course you can still buy them out of state before you move in state. Which if you are moving to MD and want a new Sig buy it now. Sigs are getting scarce in the shops I frequent here which is a shame. Oh I voted for the 228.

It would be a nice, classy, lightweight complement to your other P-series SIGs. Mine is rapidly becoming a favorite.

Hey Marko, I do believe I have held that very gun.

Did that one go from Runt or Oleg to Tam to you?

From Oleg to Tam to me. It may have been runt's gun before it was Oleg's, but I am not entirely sure.

I didn't want to bring this up so soon, but I want to come to Tennessee and shoot with the TN THR bunch. And, check out TN as a possible "move to" destination.

But I'm not planning to get there until late next year! And I was planning on you and sheslinger to be there at the THR shoot. :(

So, either stay in TN ('do it for the children!') or be prepared to come back to shoot regularly.

I voted other (DSA FAL) but of those listed, chalk another up for the P232. The one posted looks mighty nice.

1. Stay in TN!

2. Might I take this moment of cyber real estate to suggest a Steyr M40?

It's got an integrated lock so it's MD ok..

Led.. I have held that very gun as well! :D

Wow.. guns are like people.. each one is unique and recognizable...

Greeting's All-

If you don't already own one, may I suggest a 9/m SIG
P228!:D

There is not a bad choice in your poll; but I believe that
the P228 is perhaps the most perfectly balanced handgun
of all time.:uhoh: And without a doubt, it retains all the
great qualities of its big brother; the SIG P220.

My second choice would be the 9m/m SIG P220, of course.
And as you probably know, I prefer the West German made
and assembled SIG's.

Best Wishes,

Your last handgun purchase? You know, Wilsons and Baers and such don't have integral locks, either...

Oh, well; get the P-228.

As much as I would like to have a Baer or Ed Brown it is simply too much money for a gun that, for me, would be more of a safe queen.

I have my Colt 1911 and that scratches my 1911 itch pretty well. I tend to like the majority of my firearms to be working guns so to speak.

Now I know this is blasphemous, but for me.........just me.......1911s are range guns not working guns. :what: When everybody is done throwing rocks I will clarify.................get that big one in there.........ouch. Ok are we done?

Alright moving right along. I don't like external safeties and I still think that the average 1911 will be slightly less reliable....in my experience then a good SIG or HK or Glock etc. Now Wilson's, Baers, Ed Browns etc. are in a whole different league I know. But personal experience and not liking an external safety has pretty much relegated 1911s to range/pretty guns for me.

Don't worry though, people can change I might see the light some day. Who knows I might just convert over to 100% 1911s and Browning High Powers. Probably not but it could happen.

So anyhoo that is why those bad boys are not on my list. That and if it happens I am also getting another EBR, probably a second AR since that will give me the ability to build myself other guns as my desires crop up and I can do that with parts and uppers that don't require any nosey local officials.

Why did you have to go and mention 1911s. The Ed Brown Kobra is my Holy Grail of 1911s.

Ok everybody get your check books out and give till it hurts. I simply must have one of these. This is a good cause, you will be helping to bring freedom to Maryland and your Maryland shooting friends. Isn't that worth a couple bucks. ..............................Not buying it huh? I didn't think so. I wouldn't :D
