I'm a member on the Stangnet.com forums too. They have a nifty little feature which displays a small sample of the thread text in a window when you mouse over the thread title on the forum list.

I know enough about making simple web pages to be dangerous but don't know squat about forums. Would this, could this, be a possibility to add to THR?

IF so it would be a cool little addition that everyone would appreciate.

That does sound like a fairly useful feature. But I think its use would be limited. I doubt that it shows snippets from added posts as the thread grows longer.

It isn't likely that we will add that to our forum unless vBulletin adds it. We only lease the software from them, we don't write it or maintain it. We do have a few gurus who, I'm sure, could whip out that feature in a short time and tack it on to our system. But doing that only adds to the complexity, the bandwidth required and makes new versions and patches more difficult to administer.

Yeah, it does only show a portion of the initial post.

Thanks for the info too. Maybe I'll come up with something that can be implemented someday.
