Hey all,

First, sorry, no pictures.

Ok, so I bought a used West German SIG P220 about six months ago and, due to several work trips, emergencies and bad weather never really had much of a chance to get it out to the range. Until this weekend.

My family, a few friends, and I took the SIG, my dad's new Walther p99, a CZ 75, a Colt 1911 (don't remember exactly which model) and my GP 100 down to our field and spent the afternoon blasting assorted soda cans, water bottles, jugs, etc.

We started off with the various 9mm's and the Colt and everyone was having various levels of success (we're not all that great of shooters yet) until I finally brok out the SIG. At about 15 meters it seemed like NO ONE could miss with that darn thing, even my dad was popping cans like they were nothing. Everyone was pretty darn amazed at how accurate and comfy that thing was to shoot. I was pretty proud, as it was the gun of the day (followed closely by that Colt, damn fine gun it was) and may have convinced both my cousin and brother that they needed .45's.

So, its fair to say that I've been pretty happy with my P220, and now I've got that bug again, gotta get it out more. Also, gotta finally get my reloading rig set up, spent quite a bit of brass out there.

My 220's have laser guided bullets as well.

It's an amazing weapons and excellent for carry when extra layer allow for it

Yeah, well, the only real problem with that whole experience was that I am further convinced that .45 is my preferred caliber. Enough so that I am dealing off my 9mm to buy another .45, probably a 1911 style.

Paycheck, down the drain..

I don't know that your cousin and brother should necessarily be convinced that they need .45s, but rather that they just need a Sig. :D

My new 226 I just picked up last week has been nothing but a straight shooter. Never have I shot a pistol that felt as a good as my Sig.

Today, I did nothing but point to aim, both eyes open, shooting with my P220 and I shoot straighter, tighter groups, that way than with one eye aiming with this great gun..

These guns point and shoot straight.. o 0 O and tight

I'm lovin mine for HD/SD

Well, my brother is convinced that both the .45's felt better to shoot then any of the 9's. My cousin was already looking for a .45, and now he's REAL interested in a Sig of his own.

And yeah, I'm selling off my Ruger p89 to get a 1911. If/when I decide to go back to 9mm, I'm pretty much sold on a 226. I picked one up at a gunshow the other week and, yup, felt just as good in my hands and pointed just as straight as my P220, VERY nearly walked home with it. I feel that more than a few Sigs are going to end up in my possession before my days are through.

Speaking of that, I picked up a p220 Elite carry at the same show and, wow, did those wood grips feel wonderful in my hands. Anyone know if those aftermarket Hogue wood grips feel anywhere as nice? I'd try em but I'd rather spend my chash on more ammo instead of grips that MIGHT feel better then then the factory grips I have.

Just happen to have a brand new pair of coco bolo Hogue textured wood grips for a P220 American..

Loved them, but my hands (semi arthritic) and I had to go for best grip, over best looks.. If you're interested PM me..

Here they are, with slip on sleeve, but the combo was too wide and I need softer absorbing grips for these hands and what works best..

Yours if ya want them.. and save over full cost.
