I just got back from a great day out at English pit, I had not been out their since it reopened under the Clark County Gun club. The facilities were good the RSO's were great and there were very few shooters so I got a lot of help from two very helpful RSO's.

Here is a quick list of things that I found positive.

1. The range fee was reasonable
2. I got to bring my own ammo and targets unlike my prior range
3. No restrictions on caliber (well they say less than .50bmg but thats hardly a restriction)
4. Great people
5. Outdoors which was a nice change for me.

And a few negatives
1. No ammo for sale (this would have been fine until I realized I left my box of .22lr at home)
2. It rained (although the shooting benches are covered)
3. It was a 45min drive from my house (but my old range was 35 so its not that much worse)
4. I got some very suspicious looks from a few of the older guys who assumed since I was a young guy I didnt know much. Actually oddly enough one old guy said "why dont you let him shoot, and THEN critique how he is doing it" Actually the staff was very nice and for a while I was the only person on the rifle range so the RSO set up a spotting scope and really helped me dial in my mosin M44.

I haven't shot there yet,but did stop in a month ago and chatted with the owner.Very nice fella, and the range is soooooooo much closer than my usual 100 mile round trip.:(
I used to shoot there years ago,and was glad to see it re-open.
