Whenever I fired the M14, BM-59, FAL, and HK-91, it always felt noticeably sharper behind the HK-91. Maybe because there's no counter-recoil from the oprod and heavy bolt carrier?

There's a page in the Shotgun News that advertises extended buttpads, among other things, for the HK G-3/HK-91. That would be one of the easy fixes. Muzzle brakes would have to be solidly affixed, and depending on whether the gun's pre or post ban, permanently modified.

The lightest kicking rifle in this category to me has always been the FAL. None are bad, but I think I could put 1,000 rounds through a FAL if needbe. Never shot a BM-59.

I thought Bushmaster sold those buttpads. Also consider adding a steel bipod for the sake of adding mass/weight w/out permanent alterations.

Several people use a JP recoil eliminator on G3's.
200m, 20 rounds, aimpoint, full auto = 10" group. :)

Well, Smith Enterprises USED to make a brake for it. I have the same style brake on my Garand and on my M-4gery. It's a simple 15mm - 1.0 thread pitch right hand twist. There is a little clip on the factory flash hider which engages notches cut in the barrel, I assume the Smith Brake did the same thing as it was about twice the cost of the other style Brakes. Good luch finding one. I'm sure if you talked to a gunsmith and, perhaps, bought a Smith brake for a smaller diameter barrel, they could ream and thread you a brake. You could then have you drill and tap a hole and use a set-screw to index it. My opinion, good luck.

Ask anyone who is using one of our recoil eliminators - they?ll tell you the effect is nothing short of amazing. Every gun writer who has reviewed this product feels that it is the best device of its type they have tested.

When hasn't that been the case?:rolleyes: For the money they're asking for it you could buy enough ammo to train out of your flinch.

Do you have a Heckler & Koch rifle, or one of the copies? If you have a Century Arms clone, that could be part of your problem. Many of the Century guns are poorly built and have timing problems which can cause excessive felt recoil.

E&L Manufacturing sells the extended rubber buttpads for HKs. You should be able to find them with a Google search.

Another solution might be to shoot 5 rounds from a Mosin Nagant M44 right before picking up the HK.
