Hammer Spring

I have a J.P Sauer & Sohn .44 Mag Revolver. A few years ago, the hammer spring inside the grip broke in two.
I went to the local gun shop who had gotten an original firing pin assembly replacement for me. The said that they couldnt get a spring.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get a replacement spring or a metal shop that could make one?

Have you tried Numrich Gun Parts Corp?

If all else fails, you might try a hammer spring from a Colt SAA or one of the Italian made clones. Might be able to make it fit. Easier than finding someone to make one. You might post on the SASS Wire, lots of Cowboy Action Shooters over there, and gunsmiths who sell spring kits for revolvers. Lees Gunsmithing in California (714-921-9030) was very helpful to me when I needed a spring for a Stoeger shotgun. Good luck! It's a decent old sixgun.

Neophyte1, Thanx for the lead to Numrich. I found what I needed(and more) REAL quick!
Coyote3855, Thanx for the heads-up about possible crossover parts. ALWAYS good to know!
