Looking to buy a quality holster for a S.A. 1911, Micro Compact. Presently checking out Tucker.
I had a VERY BAD experience with K & D holsters (details by private PM) so not them! :fire:
Any other recommendations?
Thanks

You'll never go wrong with a Milt Sparks Versa-Max II.

How do you want to carry it? I'm assuming a hip holster . . . inside the waistband, or outside?

If you don't want a long wait I'd look at the Mitch Rosen Express Line.
Other than that I can recommend Milt Sparks, Greg Kramer, Ted Bolcker and Matt Del Fatti. They are all "top notch" makers but the cream of the crop is Matt Del Fatti IMHO. If you want a Del Fatti you can also try Lightning Arms Sports as they have a few of his Holsters in stock.
I'm using an Express Line ARG for my 1911 until I get my Del Fatti from Matt.

um, details?
My holster maker made two of my last order, which was for a 3-inch barrel Colt. He gave me the choice or which one I wanted, so I know he has a real nice custom-made, hand-tooled holster for a short-barreled 45 just sitting there.
Bet you can get it for about the same as a so-called custom holster from another maker.
PM me if you would like his info.
I don't even talk to anyone else about holsters these days, but he's 73 so I only have this luxury for a short while...

The Undershirt from Dave Workman (http://www.danddgunleather.com/pages/undershirt.htm), I've been carrying my Kimber Pro Carry II in one daily for about 6 years. Very concealable, good retention without a thumbstrap, doesn't collapse when empty. I actually have 2 of them and am thinking about a 3rd for my full size 1911.

TXPhantom,
I have had three or four of Mr. Tuckers holsters and they have all been great. For IWB I have had a couple of his Heritage holsters. One for a CZ and one for a Taurus PT-145. OWB holster includes the HF-1. I have one for a CZ and Browning Hi-Power. They are very well made and if in Houston, you can pick one up from Collectors Firearms. They have an 8' long rack full of Tuckers. Here are a few of mine.

I`ve holsters from both Milt Sparks (VMII for my 1911) and Del Fatti (a PH3 for my Seecamp) and can`t say enough good about them. They are two different holsters but both show excellent design and quality. You won`t go wrong with either maker.

I don't know why not. The holster doesn't hold at the grip area.

I've been extremely pleased with Kirkpatrick Leather products, and the only bad fit I experienced (out of several rigs), they re-did & promptly.
